If she tries to get you to smile, but on a smile and ask her, “Is this good enough?” Because putting on shitty fake smiles will ruin the point of smilling. Remind her that smiles are supposed to be special and smilling all the time will just make smile as worthy as a neutral expression. Worse comes to worse, if she won’t stop, tell her a story that she can tell is a total lie about why you can’t be a Barbie doll 24/7 and add notable sarcasm. She’ll have to get the point. Remind her, also, that her parents could be doing much worse things. Tell her you know those are minutes she isn’t getting back, but you cannot enjoy the good days without having bad ones. Or else there would be no such thing as good days. THey’d all be the same. And there are much worse things you parents coudl make you do. Remind her that all these chores will only make her feel happier when she’s free and that these are teh days that she gets to live life pretty laid back… once she’s free, she’s on her own.
